New Bill Wants ID Check for Mature Games

Nothing better than politicians with too much time on their hands making video games their top priority.  With a war going on, and gas prices going sky high, why not worry about how to stop kids from buying video games right?
Democrat Jim Matheson and Republican Lee Terry have proposed a bill that requires people to present identification when purchasing a 'Mature' or 'Adults Only.'  If the retailer fails to do this, he or she can face up to a $5000 penalty.  This proposed bill will be called the Video Games Ratings Enforcement Act.
Although I cannot disagree with this act, because there are games out there that aren't suitable for younger kids, but I put that responsibility on the shoulders of the parent.  They should know what types of games their kids are buying, and whether or not they are okay with it.
Ever since the days of Mortal Kombat, the government has tried to keep video games down, and this is just another chance for them to do so.
